How the Economy Works

topfight runs on two currencies. Everything on the site — the rankings, the rewards, the backing — comes from these two.

Two currencies

ㅽ — the daily cheer. Every day you get a fresh allotment of ㅽ. It does not accumulate — use it or lose it. Tapping ㅽ on a person, a post, or a comment is how you say "this is it." It costs you nothing but the tap.

ik² — the earned backing. ik² is what you earn by participating, and what you spend to back a star. When you spend ik² on a star, it is permanently recorded on their profile. It never decays.

How you earn ik²

1. When others cheer your words. When people tap ㅽ on your posts and comments, those cheers are collected and converted into ik² at the daily settlement. Ten cheers make one ik².

Delta ik² author = floor of sum of ㅽ received divided by 10

2. When you participate. Tapping ㅽ and spending ik² both count as activity. The more you curate and back, the larger your activity yield at settlement.

Yield activity = f(ㅽ tapped, ik² spent)

3. When you do anything. Every action on topfight earns. Writing, commenting, viewing, sharing, searching, attending, inviting — each one adds to your activity.

Daily settlement

Once every 24 hours, the settlement engine runs. It converts received ㅽ into ik² for authors, refills everyone's daily ㅽ, and pays out activity yields. Currency only grows in proportion to real activity — nothing is minted out of thin air.

Two rankings

Buzz Ranking moves fast. It reflects what is hot right now — views, mentions, reactions over the last days. A star can rise overnight.

ik² Total Ranking never decays. It is the permanent record of how much ik² the community has spent backing a star. It shows who has the most committed fans over time.

Neither ranking is ever adjusted by hand. The numbers are what they are, because the community made them that way.
